WIP on the Park is a stylish restobar in the heart of KLCC. With a mix of International and pan-Asian dishes, along with an extensive selection of alcoholic beverages, WIP on the Park is equally suitable for parties, casual lunches, and dates.
Ambience & Amenities
WIP on the Park brings a tropical garden into a chic lounge. It is a huge space with all sorts of hidden nooks. The front patio is the place for leisurely drinks with friends, while the main dining area will be a lively spot in the evenings. Further in on the left is the entrance to a semi-secret patio, with a private room at the back just past that. There’s also an entire second floor.

The washrooms are at the back of the restaurant on the right side. The women’s room had two stalls with paper. The lone sink in the women’s room had paper towels, but there are two more communal sinks outside with a hand dryer.
Menu at WIP on the Park
WIP on the Park’s menu is largely pan-Asian cuisine. There are clear Japanese, Indian and Malaysian influences, among others. There’s something for every budget, from fried noodles under RM30 to a RM480 tomahawk steak.

If you want to enjoy a tipple, WIP on the Park has cocktails galore. There are entire pages of mojitos, original creations, even mocktails. Be sure to check out the drink deals, ideal for catching up with friends over a few rounds. I spotted bottles on a cart near the entrance of free filtered water.

Food at WIP on the Park

Thanks to the restaurant’s 3-for-2 weekend special, our Aguate Guacamole (RM26) was free. It arrived very fast, within five minutes of ordering. The first few chips had a very stale texture, but luckily they got fresher as we ate. The guacamole had good flavour with a bit of lime zing, but I wasn’t a fan of the small amount in the ramekin. It was hard to dip the large chips into the bowl, and I had to dip sparingly to make the guacamole last. We also ordered two WIP Lemonades (RM12 each) for a refreshing beverage for our lunch.

The Chicken Tikka Masala (RM36) had a sweet tang and very mild spiciness. There were four large pieces of tender, boneless chicken with a mix of white and dark meat. With 8 triangles of naan, there was more than enough to sop up all of the rich curry. The dish also came with some pappadum and a cucumber raita. I don’t usually waste food, but I had to leave a bit behind because there was too much.

Eel fans have to try the Crispy Unagi Burger (RM42). It had an unexpectedly large slab of eel as the “patty,” smothered in a sticky-sweet sauce. The fresh lettuce and crispy potato shreds provided a crunch to balance the avocado’s mushy texture. The brioche bun was especially good, holding up well against the drippy sauce and other slippery toppings.
Saturday Worthy?

WIP on the Park is a good choice for a classy meal in KLCC. It’s certainly more affordable than the numerous rooftop restaurants and five-star hotels nearby. Since the restaurant has its weekend 3-for-2 food special and 3-beer deal, WIP on the Park is a perfect place for groups of three… or just big eaters and drinkers!
