Roxane Cafe & Restaurant, Patong Beach

One of the most comfortable cafes in Patong Beach

Roxane Cafe and Restaurant Review, Best Cafes in Patong Beach

Roxane Cafe & Restaurant is a stylish new eatery just steps from the famous Patong Beach. The large windows on the three-storied building make for an enticing advertisement for passersby on the main strip. Roxane’s Cafe is one of the few places in Patong Beach that doesn’t look trashy and gross during the daytime.

Ambience & Amenities

The ground floor of the cafe can be a turn-off. It’s cramped, with people huddling around the counter in the narrow passageway. If you didn’t notice the upper floors from the street, this can be easily mistaken for a takeaway-only place.

The upper floors at Roxane Cafe & Restaurant are where you want to be if you have some time to dine in. The second floor has comfortable booths and wicker bench seats with squashy pillows. The windows are thrown open to the street below for an al-fresco dining feel.

The third-floor dining area is more like a sunroom as the huge plate glass windows don’t open on this level. It’s pleasantly bright, but to be honest, the trees and an ugly washroom building block most of the view of Patong Beach. The north-facing window is a bit better with the big hill in the distance.

The toilet is on the third floor, next to the glass doors to the dining room. Since Roxane Cafe is next to Patong Beach, they expect guests to want to change into or out of their swimwear. Inside the toilet room is a shelf where you can put your clothes or bathing suit as you change. The sink is located outside the toilet room and stocked with soap and paper towels.

Menu

Roxane Cafe & Restaurant’s menu is on a fancy tablet if you dine in. The cabinet on the ground floor that faces the street will have some of Roxane’s cold food on display such as poke bowls and sandwiches. Hot food like burgers, curries and breakfast dishes are available too. Roxane Cafe & Restaurant does serve alcohol if you want to luxuriate with beers all afternoon.

Roxane Cafe and Restaurant Phuket Review, Where to eat in Patong Beach

We stopped in here for a snack and it cost a total of 360 Baht. We got two of the Lily Fresh bottled juices (110 Baht each) and split a Chocolate Mousse (140 Baht). The juices were cloudy and hit the spot, but they were nothing special. The mousse, on the other hand, was divine. Rich yet light as a cloud, this mousse was not too sweet like dark chocolate. We were both fighting to eat more than our fair share. Mark is a big chocolate mousse fan, and he said that this was one of the best he’s eaten.

Saturday Worthy?

Roxane Cafe and Restaurant Patong Phuket, Best restaurants in Patong

We were lucky to have stumbled upon Roxane Cafe & Restaurant. The space is so pretty and comfortable. The ambience with the enormous windows makes you want to stay for hours. It’s also extremely clean, and the service doesn’t feel predatory. Roxane’s is a respectable and affordable cafe in Patong Beach that is good for families or anyone who doesn’t want to hang out in a seedy place filled with backpackers.
