Mighty Monster, MyTOWN Shopping Centre

Posted on By The Perpetual Saturday No Comments on Mighty Monster, MyTOWN Shopping Centre

A trendy drinking spot in the family-friendly MyTOWN Shopping Centre

Mighty Monster KL, Restaurants in MyTown Shopping Centre

Mighty Monster wants to be the embodiment of fun. A place where the vibes are just as prominent as the food and drinks, this Australian-inspired cafe & bar is adamant that “life is boring without Mighty Monster!”

Ambience & Amenities

Mighty Monster MyTOWN Shopping Centre, Where to eat at MyTOWN

Mighty Monster is styled as a hip drinking and hangout spot for the young and stylish. The walls have a lot of neon, and hundreds of empty bottles decorate the room. The main dining room has some very squishy love seats along one wall. There are more tables in the sunken area at the back, and beyond that, there is an outdoor patio that faces MyTOWN’s Sunken Garden.

The toilets are outside of the restaurant but very close. Exit Mighty Monster and turn right. The mall’s facilities are down the corridor pretty much next door.

Menu

Mighty Monster’s menu can be best described as comfort food from around the world. Mighty Monster’s homemade sauces are apparently a big deal, and you can buy jars of them to take home. It’s not on the menu, but they also serve alcohol and have happy hour beer deals. Water costs RM1 per glass, which you can get warm or iced. There are also bottles of water for RM2 each.

Mighty Monster review

The Bluemary Smash (RM16) was one of the best coolers that we’ve had. We could taste each element – the blueberry, rosemary and honey – clearly in each sip. Usually, coolers like these get too diluted once the ice melts, but this drink didn’t taste watered down even when we were getting to the bottom of the glass.

There’s a thick, juicy chicken thigh in the middle of the MFC Sandwich (RM27), but the size of the thigh was too small. The chicken only covered half of the sandwich halves, so many bites had no chicken at all. The panini bread was unfortunately a little dry and mealy. The sandwich was tasty enough that it didn’t need the sambal mayo that was on the side, so we used the sauce for the fries and to dip our pizza crusts in.

Mighty Monster Menu MyTOWN Shopping Centre

The Chicken Pesto Pizza (RM32) had a surprise charcoal crust that its menu picture or description didn’t mention. This pizza is a tiny portion of food, with an ultra-thin crust like a cracker and only about ten inches in size. It’s like appetizer-sized, and certainly not enough food for a grown man. The toppings were generous, however, with a decently strong basil flavour.

Saturday Worthy?

Mighty Monster MyTOWN

The experience at Mighty Monster was good enough but ultimately forgettable. However, this is one of the few places to get western food at MyTOWN Shopping Centre. MyTOWN is overwhelmingly Asian restaurants and cafes, and I’m just not feeling that kind of food often. The menu at Mighty Monster has enough tempting dishes that we would consider eating here again.
